For the past decade, we have been pleased to offer business and residential Internet access using DSL connections provided by the telephone company. With more and more of our customers migrating to high speed fiber connections, we have reached the point where it is no longer practical to serve the few remaining DSL customers. For both business and technological reasons, Wintek will be phasing out this service over the next few months.
If you are currently a Wintek Internet customer who is still using a DSL modem, please contact us regarding an upgrade to fiber.
Wintek’s fiber optic network gets you to the Internet faster and more reliably than connections that involve a modem. Speeds up to 100 Mbps in both directions are available today with an easy upgrade path to faster speeds of 1 Gbps and beyond.
While we are constantly expanding our fiber network in the Greater Lafayette area, we may not be on your block or in your neighborhood yet, and you may need to make other arrangements with another provider. You may choose to keep your DSL circuit with Frontier and also use Frontier as your Internet provider, or you may want to contact Comcast to explore their Internet packages. In any case, we will be available to help you through the transition should you require assistance. If you are currently using other Wintek services, such as consulting, web hosting, or DNS, please be aware that those services are not affected.
